  1. How many accounts can I have?

    Only one. If you start at the basic level and shift to the premium level, then you only get the latter.

  2. How do you determine what work gets into the eMagzine?

    Rankings provided by each member (at either level) are tabulated and the highest and best work gets into the magazine: Green Catcher Union. Com.

  3. Does the community have any content rules or filters?

    Yes, but only one. Staff will manually review each registrant's work, and each discussion post, for sane, pertinent and respectful content.

  4. Why is the green / sustainability theme attached to this web site?

    We want creative green people from across the planet to share their work, offer critique and form new bonds and enterprises from the four disciplines or (member groups). This is the Mission.

  5. How does PlanetShifter.com make money?
    • Selling premium gallery or portfolio Member space
    • Selling ads in the eMagazine and in the web site itself
    • Selected sponsors will be brought in to support specific features like in the Lounge and Green Market.
    • Revenue from sales from our affiliate contracts: gaiam.com and amazon.com
    • We may check in with the community at some point and see if sales of member work is desirable – with PS.com acting as agent for a small transaction fee from these sales.
    • Revenue from customized apparel.
    • Google Adsense

     

  6. How does PS.com view content ownership or copy right issues?

    All work from members are their own; the same applies to any work that makes it into The GreenCatcher Union.

  7. What are the membership levels and pricing?
    • Guests can view the work only and have no rights or access to any interactive features on the site.
    • Spoke Members get 6 uploads free or a total at any time with the maximum individual file size at 10Mb;
    • Hub Members get 24 uploads for 9.95 per month – with a mandatory initial commitment of 3 months

     

  8. What about member discussion content that is generated in the forums and events?

    Use of forum and event discussion content is granted to only members INVOLVED in the specific discussion thread); as such, this data is communal by definition and not copy righted. Again, any original art work, writings or other media uploaded and displayed on member galleries or portfolios is strictly owned by the member. High Gear members can launch a private discussion with the next version of the platform.

  9. What if I have post cards or a resume writing service to sell?

    For members with products and services for sale online, please keep in mind that materials in the galleries and portfolios are meant for new idea exhibition, critique, discussion and shared development, not finished goods. Please contact center@planetshifter.com if you have consumer goods to sell in the Green Market.
