Paying More for Less at Peet's Coffee? Green'em Up Folks!

Last week I was doing my sustainability thing with Louis the Manager at the Peet's on Burlingame Ave. in Burlingame, CA, my home town coffee pipe.

Wondering out loud as to why my small coffee to go costs the same even when I ask for "room for cream" and "no sleeve."

"Hey Luis, I called out, why not give a little savings back to the customer? You can have the cardboard and coffee drip for another sale."

Sustainability vs Profits?

What green songs, symbols and stories are you using creating / promoting these days at Green Teacher?

None actually. Our focus is to share the most innovative ideas for educating young people, inside and outside schools, about the natural world and environmental issues. Those ideas come to us from adults around the world, who work at nature centers, in schools and parks, etc.

LA: “As far as I am concerned, no such proposal should be considered by any member of the government or any citizen of the city. Parks are beyond the commerce of man. To think that any inch of it be compromised would be to strip the future generations of a chance to enjoy the great outdoors, which is the one thing that the city can claim to but which the residents do not seem to be able to fight for.

Interview with Mary Jo Rhodes and Susan Newman from Frogs Are Green by Willi Paul

What do frogs symbolize? Now and in ancient times?

In many cultures, frogs are a symbol of good luck. They seem to appear magically after rain, and are connected with fertility and life. Their metamorphosis from tadpole to frog must have also seemed magical. In many cultures, frogs are also associated with transformation and resurrection.
