Cortezia and the Green Apple Chamber. New Mythology for the Sustainability Age [ open myth source #3 ] - by Willi Paul, PlanetShifter.com Magazine

The ancient granny apple orchard, all 72 scaly barked limbs and yearly scars, was snuck onto the property back in the 60’s, when apple trees had equal standing next to Mary Jane and the pole beans. Green apples were baked, shined and sauced each year and could be like an eco-calendar, but not one checked on them like that.

The apples never make a fuss.

The zoetrope is a device which creates the image of a moving picture. The earliest elementary zoetrope was created in China around 180 AD by the prolific inventor Ting Huan. Made from translucent paper or mica panels, Huan hung the device over a lamp. The rising air turned vanes at the top from which hung the pictures painted on the panels would appear to move if the device is spun at the right speed.

Who has the keys to the mythological reservoir? Commentary by Willi Paul, PlanetShifter.com Magazine

As wars and natural disasters fragment people away from Nature, sustainability is awash in corporate slogans and lies with little hope for green solutions. Rather than be a part of the mythic machine, self-serving resource gulping companies are dumbing-down and short-circuiting our consciousness and spiritual; collaboration across the globe is reduced to a hidden balance sheet .

PEG: Disruptive Green Technology at Hand

UK environmental and sustainability consultancy DIY Kyoto has a very cool product called Wattson. A combination of energy meter and portable display, Wattson can provide real-time information about household energy consumption, displayed as both a text display of current power demand or accumulated “burn rate” of power in pounds sterling per year, and a “non-verbal” colored LED display indicating overall energy health of the house.

"The world looked very different when I entered an ancient order of yogis and shamans in 1970. Anyone even suggesting that yoga would be mainstream one day, would have been sent to the funny farm. And yet, the very fact of yoga becoming mainstream, and taking on a life and an identity of its own, has tended to obscure the very traditions from which it arose.

Neil Young’s Greendale, Illustrated

They say you can’t go home again, but maybe someone should tell that to Neil Young.

Mr. Young created the fictional Northern California town of Greendale and its residents on his 2003 album of that name, then spun it off into a film and more. Now he’s visiting again, this time in the form of a graphic novel. “I’m happy the story is getting around; I think it’s empowering for young women,” he said during a recent telephone interview from his tour bus as it made its way to Louisville, Ky.

Burning The Empty Chair: Getting Up from the Things You Believe - by Aliyah Marr on PlanetShifter.com Magazine

Freedom From Limiting Beliefs

Here is a creative exercise to achieve freedom from limiting or highly-charged beliefs:

1. Isolate your negative belief.

2. Express your negative reality in art: write a poem, paint a painting, compose a musical piece, write a play or short story.

Allow it full expression, paint the darkest picture you can.

3. Write the essence of the belief (and history) you want to dump on small pieces of paper.

4. Keep these papers with you. Look at them every day.

NEW MYTHS FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM

If there is anything we have plenty of in the postmodern world, it is belief systems. But we also have something else: a growing suspicion that all belief systems -- all ideas about human reality -- are social constructions. This is a story about stories, a belief about belief, and in time -- probably a very short time -- it will become a central part of the worldview of most people.

Going Global in Nick Stratton’s Off Grid RV: The PlanetShifter.com Magazine Interview

A large part of the reason for me doing this project is to show people that you do not have to live paycheck to paycheck. Imagine if you started out with something small like this soon as you got out of high school. The money you would have saved, there would be a lot more property holders, less loans defaulted on(less loans in general).
