"Our Revolution Starts Here" – The Little Free Library Network. By Willi Paul, CommunityAlchemy.com

"A Little Free Library (LFL) is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share. It's a - gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories – and perhaps more?"

Not a library loan (take it out and return it in 2 weeks), but an exchange between neighbors that keeps the box full of books and the information current. LFL is a wonderful example of building local relationships through a simple (old fashioned? ) honor system. Should the government and the Internet fail; this resource will continue to serve the people.

LFL is a self-sustaining system – replenishing itself. Books are free, the currency of learning. No tax.

Why not build resilience and leave notes in the box about neighborhood events and permaculture trainings? Little Free Library is a hub that needs no manager; a cloud without a device; an idea transmitter.

The LFL in the photo is located at 801 Bromfield Rd, San Mateo, CA. Enjoy the gargoyles and bird houses, too!
