"Bay Area Tsunami @ Doomsday Bay, CA. 2025 A.D." - New Myth #99 from Willi Paul Studio / Planetshifter.com

Often referred to as "ground zero" for sea level rise, San Mateo County is one of the most vulnerable regions of the Bay Area.

Noah Smith paddles each day to the Red Cross Center and then hikes to the bodega near his partially submerged house on Trollman Ave. He suspects that living in his attic and gardening on his roof might remind some folks of the images of people waiting to be rescued after Katrina and the flooding in New Orleans. Only his plight is long-term. There is no one coming to save him. The water line is up and static.

News reporters are labeling him an environmental refugee but the irony is, while he has been "displaced", he is still "squatting" on his garage roof. After the 2025 Bay Area Tsunami, he has refused to leave his islanded domicile as the shoreline flooding and climate change heat combined to force 49% of Bayside residents and Nature to flee to higher ground.

Noah is living in a slow perpetually constricting water torture from the storm monster and the local, state and Federal governments "post-sustainability" recovery process. There is was no dike and there is no dike and recovery is stalled from toxic water, horrible (inconvenient) sanitary conditions and super anger.

The Tsunami raised water levels along the Bay four plus feet, quickly scrubbing away homes like your Mother quickly wrapping up the dinner dishes at the sink for a seat on the couch. Wam! Bam! Along the adjacent Bay Trail, calamity here means that the unwelcomed water line is not going to recede. Ever. There goes the leather couch, the garden hose and the stereo cabinet from High School.

Now just a few reawakened row boats and canoes dot the new cove, the pilots missing the tops of cars and trucks now imprisoned in the mucky water. Everyone in the neighborhood has a rotten case of wet auto engine and few can paddle.

The once pulsing PG&E power lines and Internet cables in this water world are silent. Toilets are a thing of the past. Back-up systems? Candles and AM meditations contact and trance the ceiling of Noah's attic shelter. The flicker mimics the improvised, chaotic, and short-term solutions bending around the remains of the neighbors and their hopes for a lifetime of privileged human habitat.

Reactionaries; survivalists; 49ers; binoculars and humans safely hung up in the nearby foothills.

This situation is not catastrophic because it was predicted.
