"Initiation Journey" – Planetshifter.com's Proposal for the Fall 2018 Convergences by Willi Paul and the Regenerative Mythology Group

ABOUT THE INITIATION JOURNEY -

Each organization can select and send one person to partake in the Initiation Journey

The Initiation Journey runs from Thursday evening to Friday evening as a training event before the Convergence begins. It is not a contest but a shared learning experience and is considered a rite of passage for the participants

The Initiation Journey proposes three topics each for the 2018 NW Permaculture Convergence (NWPC) and the 13th Annual NorCal Permaculture Convergence (NPC)

The Convergence initiation journey is a primary example of the powerful change that can occur from viewing the individual as the hero to recognizing the community as the hero.

The four Eco-Zones are similar to the zone strategy in permaculture

Initiates will use eNotebooks for readings, journal writings and photos – and communication to their Guides, if needed

Readings with be selected with each Convergence leadership team (3 per site)

Regenerative Mythology (RM) is a new community-oriented approach to storytelling, folktech and mythology. Regenerative incorporates values that revitalizes existing human and natural resources with new visions for our evolving planet and Nature. Please join us

Eco-Zone: Forest

3 pm - Check-in with Guides
3:15 - 5:30 - forage for edibles
6:00 - make low impact solo camp
6:30 - dinner break
7:00 - 1st Reading / Journaling
10:00 pm - 6:00 am rest

Friday Morning

NWPC Topic: Tools and Tech - Solar, Wind, Water and More
NPC Topic: Sequester carbon to balance the biosphere
Eco-Zone: Grassland

6:00 - Awaken / Breakfast
7:00 - 11:00 - Set-up Convergence Infrastructure
11:30 - 2nd Reading / Journaling
12:30 - Lunch

Friday Afternoon

NWPC Topic: Green and Resilient Culture - Place making, Companion Movements, Communication
NPC Topic: Restorative Justice: Ecological, Social, Cultural Healing
Eco-Zone: Stream Bank

1:00 - 3:00 - 3rd Reading / Journaling
3:15 – 4:00 - Sharing session with other Initiates
4:15 - 6:00 - Journal Entries, Readings Summaries and Images sent to Guides for Editing and Posting on Convergence web site

Friday Evening

Eco-Zone: Main Lodge

6:30 - 7:30 - Dinner
8:00 - Community Ceremony by Guides for graduating Initiates including discussion of edited Journey Data from each Initiate
