Interview with Stanley by Willi -

How do you define "Home?"

Well, one needs a comfortable home, a good car and a great company. I can find fixer-uppers or turn-key homes for my clients; I meet their style preferences.

What's happening with the old Burlingame Post Office?

This is a legacy project that has lasted for more than two years to date and will take more time. The City has a legal staff, zoning mandates, multiple reviews, and many conditions for parking - and we are working on a plan that satisfies the historic and neighborhood uses of the P.O. The General Plan is the driver.

The ownership is a local Chinese-led LLC, but of course, this is in the public record.

Why did you choose this area for your business?

I live in Hillsborough and appreciate the airport access and the new 101 Broadway interchange. We have good restaurants and shops. There are a lot of entrepreneurs here. Good schools. The City cares about life quality concerns - like helping with the new landscaping at the library.

How do you see the make-up or the diversity of the residents here?

I won't go there!

Are you in NextDoor.com?

What is that? Never heard of it!

What's good and bad about Burlingame Ave? Are too many juice joints, nail salons and caffeine stops?

You can't dictate what the building owners put in there although the City's moratorium on salons is still blocking my own plan to open a spa downtown. Online businesses are changing the business mix and many will not make it. Look at Santana Row, the percentage of service businesses is now around 80%, a big swing from the old days.

Sea levels are expected to flood areas near the Bay In the coming years. Does climate change play a role in your clients search for housing now?

I don't know about this, I am not an activist. Besides, I won't be here in 50 years anyway, why should I care?
